Have you heard of Thanksgiving Blessings Mix? It’s a yummy trail mix where each of the ingredients represents a different “blessing” Today I am going to be sharing the recipe as well as what each ingredient represents, and showing you all of the adorable printable items I have come up with as a way to give out this yummy treat to friends, family and neighbors for Thanksgiving. The mix looks beautiful, full of color and festive Fall flair! So let’s get to it!
small pretzels (traditional shape)
dried fruit or raisins
peanuts and or seeds
M & M’s
Much like a fruit salad there are no real measurements needed for this, I bought a bag of everything and threw it all into a huge bowl and mixed it up! For my peanuts I used honey roasted because I like those better, and I ended up just buying a mixed bag of dried fruits and seeds and tossed that in with everything as well! So feel free to mix it up a bit, add extra of your favorite items, it looks so pretty all mixed up and makes and excellent gift!
Here is the poem that goes along with the recipe. This poem is included on all the printables I have created, so your recipient knows what all the different items symbolize.
Bugles: Shaped like a cornucopia or Horn of Plenty, a symbol of our nation’s abundance.
Pretzels: Arms folded in prayer, a freedom sought by those who founded our country.
Candy corn: Sacrifices of the Pilgrims’ first winter. Food was so scarce that settlers survived on just a few kernels of corn a day.
Nuts and seeds: Promise of a a future harvest, one we will reap only if seeds are planted and tended with diligence.
Dried fruits: Harvest gifts of our bountiful land.
M&Ms: Memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future.
Hersheys Kisses: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
Now that you have a huge bowl of Blessings Mix ready to go, you need a cute and creative way to give out! Let my printable options help make a wonderful gift for Thanksgiving this year!
First I have an awesome Mason Jar topper and Tag set. Put the circle in the top and tie the tag around the rim, it’s perfect because you can see the pretty mix through the jar! You can find this printable HERE
I have a fun favor box as well, this is a great option if you would like to put a little box of mix at each place setting at the dinner table. You can find the favor box HERE
One of my favorites is the Gable Box, this one is great for giving A LOT of blessings mix! Use this box to give to a family, trust me whoever you give this to is going to want lots of it to enjoy! Find the gable box HERE
The front box piece has the pretty title, and the back box piece includes the blessings mix poem
The pillow box makes a great container too. Title on the front of the box, poem on the back. This box holds quite a bit of mix and is also a nice option for putting at each place setting. Find it HERE
Another great option for really showing off the mix is the bag topper. It’s got a pretty front, with the poem on the back. Fill some clear cello bags with blessings mix and secure with a pretty topper. (Forgive the photo, my camera is broken so I am using one I am not familiar with and I couldn’t quite capture the colors on this one, but hen printed they really do look like the preview!) Find the bag topper HERE
And since your blessings mix contains Hershey Kisses, you might as well have some matching stickers to put on those to coordinate with the container! Or just dress up a bowl of kisses and set it out on Thanksgiving. You can find the kiss stickers HERE
So there you have the Thanksgiving Blessings Mix and all the fun container options! I hope you are inspired to mix up a batch and hand it out to friends this holiday season!
